George Nelson Funeral Services Held Tuesday

Funeral
services were held Tuesday for George W. Nelson, long-time farmer of the Blair
area, who died suddenly last Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Nelson, who was 73 years
old, was operating a tractor in a field of his farm and death came suddenly. The
Blair Rescue unit was called to assist but he had died prior to his arrival at
the hospital.

Mr. Nelson was born July 15, 1895 at Blair. He had lived in the
area all of his life and had devoted his life to farming. For many years he had
lived on a farm southeast of Blair at the top of a hill which is known to
everyone as the “Nelson Hill”. The name has become common place to designate a
much-used route into the rural areas southeast of Blair.

He is survived by
his wife, Margaret, to whom he was married in 1928 at Glenwood, Iowa.

Others
surviving are a son and two daughters. The son is Keith A. Nelson, of Millard,
Nebraska. The daughters are Miss Carol Nelson, who is at home and Mrs. William
Bolln (Joan), of Chadron, Nebraska. There are five grandchildren. A sister, Miss
Alta Nelson, lives at Fremont.
