My Great-Great Grandma White died after succumbing to injuries received from being hit by a Consumers Power service truck in downtown Jackson, Michigan while Christmas shopping with her husband, Claude in December 1954. Ironically, this was not the first, but the second time she had been hit by a Consumers Power Truck while "Jay-Walking" across Michigan Avenue. She was first hit in the late 1930's while on a summer shopping trip with her Granddaughter, Evelyn. Both times the driver was drunk, both times the truck came out of the same alley before hitting her.
