Joseph Statler, County Farmer, Succumbs at 78
Jackson, March 7. – Joseph Statler, 78 years of age, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vester Cook, at Oak Ridge at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, of disease of the heart. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon, first with services at the Cook home and then at the Indian Creek church with Rev. D. M. Margraves in charge.

Mr. Statler was a native of Bollinger County, but lived in this county the greater part of his life, being a farmer by profession. He is survived by his widow, who was Mary McLard; two daughters, Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Ivy McLain, the latter of Neelys Landing; eight grandchildren, three brothers, Henry Statler of Fredericktown, Ephram Statler, of Greenbrier, and Eli Statler of Dutchtown, and one sister, Mrs. Polly Harmon of Cape Girardeau.
