Richard E. Kosola, 64, Bovey, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006 at the Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born Aug. 2, 1941 in Grand Rapids, the son of Eino and Vienna (Karna) Kosola.
He married Donna M. Conklin on May 11, 1963 in Rhode Island. He was a pipe fitter/welder, working out of Local No. 589. He had lived in the Trout Lake area since 1975. He was a member of the American Legion in Grand Rapids and the Bovey Moose Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, in August; his father, Eino Kosola, and brothers, Raymond Kosola and Roger Heikkila.
Survivors include his son, Aaron; daughter, Donna (Eugene) Stitt; granddaughter, Marissa Stitt; mother, Vienna (Kosola) Heikkila; sisters: Dorothy Ylatupa, Janice (Bill) Sampson; Joan (Claire) Kurschner, Marge Kosola, Karen (Mike) Gzym, Diana (Jerry) Gibson, Leone (Terry) Pierce, and Lora Heikkila; brothers: Rodney (Glenna) Heikkila , Tommy Heikkila, and Terry Heikkila.
Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
