Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 6 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cohasset, with Rev. William Zeige officiating. Interment was held at Lakeside Cemetery, Trout Lake Township.
Lloyd Clifford Davis was born on December 12, 1924, to Wesley and Julia (Flugstad) Davis in Karlstad. He grew up and attended school in Halma. On November 27, 1944, he joined the United States Army, serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II as a light truck driver, hauling supplies, equipment and personnel in the Philippines and Korea. He was honorably discharged on November 22, 1946. Lloyd worked as a heavy machine operator and later a beef cattle farmer near Wirt, until his retirement in 1992.
Lloyd was a handyman who enjoyed building things, both inside and outside. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, joking with family and friends and most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren and son Gary. He had a very special bond with his numerous dogs over the years. Lloyd especially looked forward to coffee time every morning with Gary and watching Monday night wrestling with his grandsons, Tim and Ben. His granddaughter Hannah would melt his heart as she was the apple of his eye.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Davis of Bovey; three sons, Gary (Shelly) Lindstrom of Bovey, Greg Lindstrom of Wannaska and Bruce (Debbie) Davis of Grand Forks, N.D.; five daughters, Barb Lindstrom of Baldwin, Wis., Denise Lindstrom of Virginia, Grace Pagnac of Thief River Falls, Penny Davis of Grand Forks, N.D., and Sandy (Ken) Estes of Mesa, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and four sisters.
