Bernice “Julia” Randall, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006 in the Grand Village Nursing Home, Grand Rapids.
Born July 10, 1913 in Trout Lake Township, she was the daughter of Christian and Clara (Hansen) Vann. She was a 1931 graduate of Greenway High School and was a lifelong resident of the Bovey, Coleraine, and Grand Rapids areas. Julia and Raymond V. Randall were married on Aug. 17, 1932. She was a homemaker and business partner with her husband at Rays Jewelry, a member of the Bethel – Trinity Lutheran Church of Bovey and its W.E.L.C.A., the Bovey V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the Sons of Norway.
Her parents, Christian and Clara Vann, her husband Raymond in 1986, an infant son, a longtime friend and dance partner, William Helin and three brothers, Clarence, Arnold, and Oliver Vann preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Richard (Patricia) Randall of Grand Rapids and Lewis Randall of San Francisco, Calif.; a daughter, Carol (Arthur) Toms of Coleraine; grandchildren, Blake (Lisa) Toms of Maple Grove, Brian (Cindy) Toms of Bloomington, Marc (Becky) Randall of Pleasanton, Calif., Bruce Toms of Pasadena, Calif., and Julie Toms Schmidt of Moorhead and great-grandchildren, Jenna Toms, Jayce Schmidt, and Danica and Sarah Randall.
Services: Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 in the Bethel Trinity Lutheran Church, Bovey. Interment was in the Trout Lake Community Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine.
