"Mrs. Josephine Davis died in Willow Springs Friday, June 15th. Mrs. Davis was born in Linden Jan. 7, 1847, and grew to womanhood there. On May 9th, 1869, she was united in wedlock to Mr. Isaac Davis. They went to reside on a farm in Willow Springs where they lived ever since. Eleven children were born to this union, 4 daughters and 7 sons. Her husband and 4 children preceded her in death. Her son, Charles, remaining at home with her."
"Mrs. Davis was a member of the P. M. church in Willow Springs and an active member of the W. C. T. U. for many years. Her pleasing personality and refinement brought many friends. In all works of charity her helpful participation could be relied upon."
"The funeral took place Sunday, June 17, in Willow Springs with interment in the Union Cemetery, Rev. A. D. Willott of the M. E. Church of Mineral Point officiated. She is survived by her children, Isaac of Richland Center; Ephriam and Chas. of Willow Springs; Frank, Dodgeville; Mrs. Jennie Proctor of Madison; Mesdames Byron and Orrin Pickett of Mineral Point; several grandchildren, and one sister, who will ever cherish her memory."

Everything that medical skill could do and the most tender loving care given by her son, Charles and her sister, Mrs. Sophie Powers of Shullsburg, proved to no avail. Calm and peaceful, she sank into the final slumber."
