Gary J. King, was born September 21, 1935, in Springfield, IL, the son of Glen W. and Rose M.(Reggentin) King. He graduated form North English High School in 1953. He was united in marriage to DeLilah M. Graber on September 25, 1965, at the First Christian Church, in Iowa City. He served in the US Army, US Navy and US Air Force for many years. He enjoyed bowling and working on his computer. Gary died on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, after a brief illness, at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his wife DeLilah of Marengo; a brother Robert (La Nell) King of Papillion, NE a twin brother Larry (Shirley) King of Cedar Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English. Pastor Kirk Statler will officiate. There will be no burial. Visitation will be on Monday from 5-7 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. A general memorial fund has been established.
