Velma Pearl Pool, 91, of Fort Gibson, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at Broadway Manor Nursing Home in Muskogee. She was born December 2, 1917 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to William A. and Buna May (Midkiff). Mrs. Pool received a Bachelor's Degree in education and became a teacher. During her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and studying genealogy. She is survived by her son, Rodney Kent Poole of California; four grandchildren; one brother, Troy Aldridge of Fort Gibson; one sister, Zelma Lopez of California; and other relatives.A service celebrating Mrs. Pool's life will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Bradley Belltower Chapel with Monty Nickels officiating. Interment will follow at Beggs Cemetery. The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral Service of Muskogee with the arrangements.
