Clyde A. Curless, 92, of Peoria, formerly of Vermont, Illinois, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 1985, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born March 9, 1893, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, Illinois, he was the son of Lorenzo and Susan (Thomas) Curless. Clyde married Oga Shaw March 15, 1919, in Lewistown. She died on February 8, 1970. Surviving are one son, Homer of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Genieve) Burton of Peoria; one grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Claude Curless of East Peoria. He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Clyde was a farmer and had served as the Vermont Cemetery sexton for 26 years. He was a veteran of World War I, serving from 23 May 1918 to 14 Feb 1919. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and Vermont Legion Post 26. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont, with Rev. J. B. Troops officiating.
