Born in Christiana, he was the son of the late Lloyd G. and Hazel (Trout) Summers.
Lloyd worked at Sperry New Holland for more than 37 years. Earlier in his life, he was involved with Junior Achievement. He enjoyed being in his yard and riding throughout the county in his car. Lloyd served two tours of duty with the Marines.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Troy married to Kaleta (Hadley) Summers, Akron and Susan married to Ray Kunkle, East Earl; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Forrester, Bird-In-Hand.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kim Summers.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11 AM at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill with Pastor Sam Smucker officiating. Interment will be in Voganville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Eckenroth's on Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM. (Lancaster Newspapers, 6/20/2009)
