Janet A. Pasternak, 78, of Dyer, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Anthony Nursing Home.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Pasternak of Phoenix, AZ, Debra (David) Petersen of Crown Point, and Cynthia (Jerry) Bocken of Schererville; step-son, Donald (Jean) Pasternak of Hammond; grandchildren, Amy (Marc) Hauschildt, Anthony Pasternak, Rachel Rockstroh, David, Lauren and Douglas Petersen.
Preceded in death by husband, Frederick, August 7, 2005.
Friends may meet with the family Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church, Schererville with Rev. Martin Dobryzynski officiating.
Private burial of cremains at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville. Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, Dyer in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pasternak was an active member of St. Joseph Church and altar and rosary sodality, volunteering at the school library and playground. She also volunteered at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Dyer and served as an election official. She was a charter member of the Dyer Lady Lions, member of St. Maria Goretti S.P.A.R.C.'s and Hammond Civic Club. Janet loved to play bingo and devoted her life to her Children and grandchildren. Memorials to St. Anthony Hospice, 203 Franciscan Dr. Crown Point, IN 46307 would be appreciated.
