Calvert SMITH Is dead at 87. Calvert SMITH 87 of 215 West St. died Wednesday in LAKE COUNTY GENERAL HOSPITAL after an illness of three months.
MR. SMITH had lived with his son, Milton E. SMITH since 1923. He was born in ALLEN COUNTY,INDIANA and was a contractor in JOLIET for many years.
He is survived by his son and six grandchildren, Dr. Stanley J. SMITH. 331 Stewart Ave. Dr.Calvert SMITH, 222 S. GENESSE St. Kensley SMITH, DEADWOOD SOUTH DAKOTA. Milton SMITH JR. Evertt B. SMITH, and Arlene SMITH, all of WAUKEGAN, and Mrs. Marceline VICK.

Calvert SMITH a resident of WAUKEGAN since 1923 died at 10A.M. today at GENERAL HOSPITAL.
Mr. SMITH was born in ALLEN COUNTY,INDIANA and he lived there on a farm until 1878 when he moved to WISCONSIN. He farmed in that state until moving to JOLIET,ILLINOIS to enter the building and contracting trade. He remained in Joliet until 1907 when he went to KENOSHA to enter the building and contracting trade there, he remained in KENOSHA until coming to WAUKEGAN.
He lived nearly all of the time at 215 North West St, the home of his son Milton E. SMITH and only survivor of the immediate family. Besides M.E. SMITH there are seven grandchildren .Dr. Stanley SMITH, Dr. Calvert SMITH, Mrs. Marceline VICK all of WAUKEGAN, Kensley SMITH DEADWOOD SOUTH DAKOTA, Everett B. SMITH, Milton SMITH JR.and Miss Arlene SMITH all of WAUKEGAN.
