WINDER – Luther Allen "L.A." Braselton Jr., 82, died Saturday, June 13, 2009.

A native of Hall County, he was the son of the late L.A. Braselton Sr. and Chester Tanner Braselton. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Sara Frances and Nick Geehr. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1944 and attended the University of Georgia. He was a member and deacon emeritus of The Winder First Baptist Church and attended the Brotherhood Sunday School Class, going on mission trips with his Sunday School Class, Church and Georgia Baptist Disaster Teams. Mr. Braselton was a retired poultry inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II in the occupation force in Yokohama, Japan. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, traveler, and loved his Lord, Church, family, friends, the beach and mountains, loved ones stated.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Margie Dial Braselton, Winder; children and spouses, Dr. Allen Braselton and Diane Braselton, Bruce and Vickie Braselton, and Vicky and Bill Bramlett; grandchildren, Nikki and Brent Mottley, Brook and Scott Coile, Kyle Braselton, Hugh and Emmi Braselton, Ben Bramlett, Jim Bramlett, Alex Braselton and Josh Braselton; great-grandchildren, Finn Coile and Grey Coile; an aunt, Lurlene Tanner; and many dear family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, at 11 a.m., from the Winder First Baptist Church with John E. Talley and the Rev. Lester Hall officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Monroe.
