Alonzo B. Woodard, one of the oldest Pioneers, died at his home, 306 Union street, at 9 o'clock Sunday night. The body was removed to Gilbaugh's undertaking parlors, from where the funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday, with interment at Odd Fellows cemetery.

Dr. A. B. Woodard was the oldest practicing dentist in the State of Washington.

Born in Michigan July 16, 1840, he crossed the plains with his parents in 1852, driving an ox team. He wintered in Vancouver with his parents, 1852-1853, and later came on to Olympia by ship from Columbia river. In 1867 in Lafayette, Oregon, he married Roxie Wallace and brought his bride to Olympia in February.

The young folks settled first in Tumwater and later on the West Side, where they raised their four children, two of whom are still living, Mrs. Elma Crawford of Tacoma, and Mrs. Ada Ekrem, of this city. The deceased leaves one brother, H. E. Woodard, who still lives in the house that his father built in the latter fifties.

Rev. Buchanan of Tacoma, will officiate at the funeral.
