"....Director of the Henry County Ration Board during World War II. Mr. Berry had owned and operated the American Dry Cleaners in New Castle for approximately 20 years. For many years he was employed as a tailor by Cliff Payne Inc. clothing store, now Barnette's Inc. Mr Berry had lived all his life in Henry County, except for several years as a child. He was a member of the Elks Club. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Helen Berry; a son Clifford Berry of Los Angeles; a sister Mrs George Mills of Orange, Calif. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Helms and Son Funeral Home in Lewisville. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Raleigh..."
