Funeral Services for Mrs. Manson Held Saturday
Burial Took Place in Cashmere Cemetery. Rev. Haslam and Rev. Gardner Officiate
Funeral services for Mrs. R. E. Manson were held Saturday afternoon from the Kuelbs Funeral home. Mrs. Manson died Thursday morning in Seattle. Services were conducted at the Parlor by the local Amaranth, with Rev. J. R. L. Haslam and Rev. H. E. Gardner officiating, burial took place in the Cashmere cemetery.
"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" was sung by Mrs. Robt. Fallis while the Kelly sisters and brother, Rex Kelly, of Monitor sang, to the accompaniment on the organ by Mrs. Wilson Dynes.
Bearers were; J. E. McClimans, Art Brown, George Nodker, A. L. Tertsagian, R. A. McKellar and E. Eaton.
Mrs. Letha Griner Manson was the daughter of George W. and Alice Charity Griner; born in Latah County, Ida., near Garfield, Wash., on March 14, 1892; passed away at the age of 41 years, 9 months and 27 days at the Swedish hospital at 8:20 am Jan. 11, 1934, from Carcinoma of the respiratory tract aggravated by an asthmatic condition contracted about six weeks previous from which she never recovered regardless of consultation and efforts of numerous doctors.
Letha Griner was married to Richard Manson at Wenatchee, April 16, 1914, making their home at Cashmere. To this marriage was born four children.
She was reared in a true Christian home of her grandmother, as her own mother passed away when Letha was but five years of age; was a member of the Methodist church, Chapter of the Easter Star, Order of the Court of Amaranth, the Degree of Honor and Women's Relief Corp, also served two years on the Rainbow advisory board.
Surviving are her husband, Richard E. Manson, four children, Archie, Mildred, Delbert and Harold; two brothers, Ernest R. Griner of Hanford, Irvie J. Griner of Yakima, and four sisters, Mrs. Alberta May, Potlatch, Idaho, Mrs. Bessie Carter, Cashmere, Mrs. Neal Kenyon, Moscow, Ida., Mrs. Gen Nagley, Kettle Falls, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Manson was a devoted wife and mother and a lover of the home and home life and a true and sincere friend to those within her circle of acquaintance leaving many wonderful memories of her devotion to husband and children and friends, she will be greatly missed, but ever remembered as a true wife, fond mother and sincere friend.
