Loretta Louise Shomidie was born on November 1, 1926 in Springfield, Sangamon, Illinois to Frank and Georgia Loretta Brandenburg Shomidie. During the depression, her parents could not afford to keep her, and her 3 other siblings. So she was raised by her aunt, Nellie Brandenburg Taylor. Loretta eventually became a very successful dancer. She married Robert Ralph Chambers on January 17, 1948 in Springfield, Sangamon, Illinois. They had two children, Craig Robert and Glenn Allan Chambers. Loretta died on September 13, 2000 at the age of 74. She was buried in Camp Butler National Cemetery next to her husband Robert Ralph Chambers.
