MARENGO, Ia - Mrs. Robert Stanton, 74, died at her home in Marengo Saturday evening. She had been in poor health for about a year. Nettie K. Hawkins, daughter of Limon and Anne Eggleston Hawkins, was born March 28, 1869, east of Marengo. She was married to Robert Stanton Dec. 17, 1889, and has lived in Marengo for nearly 50 years.
Those who survive are her husband; two sons, Wesley B. Stanton of Marengo, Tony H. of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Nellie McKay, Marengo, and Nora Starkweather of High Amana; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Brown-Fesler funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Howard Johnson of the Wesleyan Methodist church conducting the services. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery
