Note: In a newspaper article copied by Fern Alkire from the Angosture Messenger, Oral, Fall River, South Dakota dated May 9, 1916, No. 11, Vol. #11

Jenny Patricia Fisher, 11 year old daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Matt Rasmussen of Norway town-ship, Clay County died at the Vermillion hospital as the result of burns received from playing with a bonfire.

Mr. Rasmussen had been burning rubbish at the farm home and the little girl was attracted by the smoldering embers and in poking them about a breeze fanned them into flame of
sufficient magnitude that her skirt caught on fire. As a result of this Jenny started to run and her mother caught her and put her in the rain barrel but not before the mother's hands and arms were burnt.

NOTE: This article states the death date as 1916 but the tombstone indicates the date was 1918.
