Sarah Elizabeth Pardum was born in Prairie County, Ohio, August 31, 1841. Came to Clark County Iowa in 1856, then to Adams County in 1859, where she has been a citizen until after nearly a year of nervous weakness passed out of this life at 2:20 a.m. July 5, 1920, age 78 years, 10 months, and 4 days. In 1860 she was united in holy wedlock to Jacob Myers. To this union eight children were born. After the death of Mr. Myers, in 1872, she was married to John Born on January 5, 1876 to which union four children were born She has Keenan exceptionally hard worker enjoying the toil that goes with the rural life. Was a kind and faithful neighbor, true to all. She was converted when 15 yers of age and remained in the faith until the end. Surely hers will be a glorious reward. There remains to mourn the loss two sons, Nelson Myers and James M. Brown; four daughters, Mrs. Molbury Cale, Mrs. R. A. Dubois, Mrs. Joe Wisdom, and Mrs, John Radclift, with 16 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, 9 step children, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the Brooks M. E. Church, conducted by Rev. E. B. Borst. Interment in Brooks Cemetery.
