OBITUARY
George Christiansen Clawson, 69, of Route 5, Pocatello Creek Road, died Saturday in Bannock Memorial Hospital after a brief illiness.

Mr. Clawson was born Jan 5, 1906 in Springville, Utah, a son of John Rocky and Constance Christiansen Clawson. He married Ethel Viola Jensen, June 2, 1926 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

He came to Pocatello in 1924 and worked as a carman with the Union Pacific Railroad. For many years he worked as a salesman in furniture, insurance, and real estate. Before his retirement in 1967, he was a realtor with Satterfield Realty and Insurance.

In his early life, he served in several positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; superintendent of MIA, Elders Quorum president, M-Men advisor, superintendent of Sunday School and bishops's counselor. Later in his life he was called to serve in the North Pocatello and Alameda Stake high councils. He has been a stake patriarch the past eight years. In 1970 he and Mrs. Clawson served a full-time mission in the Alabama-Florida mission and were released in 1972.

Surviving are his widow, four sons, James George of Richfield, UT; John Alma and Gary Dean both of Pocatello and Jeddy William of Rexburg, one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Julienne) Johnson of Blackfoot; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Hazel Tolman of Pocatello, Connie Roberts of Meridian, ID, and Ellen Lewis of Union Town, PA.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the LDS 36th Ward Chapel on South Fairway Drive with Bishop Sidney A. Horrocks officiating. The family will receive friends at the Manning Funeral Chapel, Tuesday from 7-9 p.m.
