Barry was born as Barry William Benson. His mother divorced his biological father. She then remarried and Barry was adopted by the second husband (Joseph Murray Larrazolo .... id 64059000). When that adoption went through Barry's last name was changed and he used Larrazolo for the rest of his life.

Barry was married to Ruth Lucille Calene (born 18 Jun 1934 in Troy, Latah, Idaho).
