Richard E. McNutt
WOOSTER -- Richard E. McNutt, 74, of Wooster, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at his home.
Richard was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Loudonville, Ohio, a son of Marshall E. and Lela Hazlet McNutt. In 1965, he married Carol Mehling, who survives. He was a superintendent with the Ohio Department of Transportation in Strongsville, retiring in 1976. Richard was an avid outdoorsman, and was a loving husband and father who loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Also surviving are his children, Robert E. (Tina) McNutt of Wooster, Roger E. (Vicki) McNutt of Zanesville and Cheryl (Rick) Freds of Michigan; four children from a previous marriage; a brother, Roland McNutt of Zanesville; two sisters, Liz Fuller and Judy Kelly, both of Zanesville; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard E. McNutt Jr.; three sisters, Dee Smith, Kathryn McNutt and Betty McNutt; and his mother- and father-in-law, Mary and Don Mehling.
Calling hours will be two hours prior to services, which will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, with Pastor Steven Smith officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
