Gus Caglagis was born in Fort Worth, Texas. His parents came here from Greece. He married Juanita Francis Bland on May 3, 1947. They had four daughters: Shelia Beth (Caglagis) Worthey, Sharleen Nell (Caglagis) Worthey, Sonja Lynn (Caglagis) Boaz and Starlyn Jean (Caglagis) Frank. Gus loved life and to have a good time. He was a Christian.

Constantine Gus Caglagis, 81, of Krum passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 20, 2008.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery in Krum. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton.
He was a first-generation American whose parents came to Ellis Island from Greece. He was the second oldest of a family of four children. After being discharged from the Army after World War II, he married, started his family, went to college and graduated from TCU in 1967. He worked in the aerospace industry as a technical writer for most of his career and was employed for several years at Lockheed Martin and LTV. After a long and fruitful career, he retired from Bell Helicopter Textron with 22 years of service.
He and his wife raised a family of four daughters. He was a wonderful and loving dad, father-in-law, papa and great-papa. Always cheerful and helpful, he never shirked what he considered his duty and was a very good friend and provider for his family. He never met a stranger. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors: Wife, Juanita Caglagis; daughters, Shelia Worthey, Sharleen Worthey and husband, David, Sonja Boaz and husband, Ronnie, Starlyn Frank and husband, Kenny; granddaughter, Rachael Boaz; grandsons, Statton Frank, Matthew, Shawn and Nathan Worthey and wife, Tabitha; great-granddaughters, Emily, Sydney, Kennedy and Taylor Worthey; and nieces, nephews, many extended-family members and friends.
