Edgar Arno Wahrmund, 9/20/1909 - 8/27/2006, was born on September 20, 1909 in Eagle Lake, TX, the son of Arno Louis Wahrmund and Ella Koennecke. He passed from this life to God's eternal life on August 27, 2006. After graduating from the University of Texas, he was an accountant for 31 years before becoming the owner of Holiday Laundry. After his retirement, he devoted his time to helping his family and his church where he was a lifelong active deacon. His loving nature was appreciated by all. He was predeceased by his oldest son James David. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Sarah Ella Black Wahrmund, his sons Glen Richard (wife Bert) of Houston, TX and Barry Hall (wife Charlene) of El Paso, TX. His six grandchildren are Darrell Wahrmund of Bakersfield, CA, Teresa Stokley of Hockley, TX, Cyndy Robbins of Houston, TX, Lisa Rose Wilkins of Chapel Hill, NC, Capt. John Charles Wahrmund of Spanaway, WA and David E Wahrmund of New York, NY. Additionally, he has 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on August 30 at University Presbyterian Church, 2010 Wisconsin, Las Cruces, NM, 88001.

Survivors include, his wife, Sarah Ella Black Wahrmund; sons, Glen Richard Wahrmund of Houston, and Barry Hall Wahrmund of El Paso; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday, August 31 at 2 p.m. from Masonic Cemetery in Eagle Lake with Rev. Ardie Nelson officiating. Eagle Lake Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
