Jennie May (Lumberg) Smith, 85, a longtime Cashmere resident, died Wednesday, March 29, 1989, in Highline Convalescent Center in East Wenatchee. She was bom Dec. 19, 1903. in Ozawkie, Kan., to Walter and Flora (Quiette) B run ton. They moved to the Wenatchee area in 1907 and she attended Majestic Flats Grade School and Wenatchee High School. She married Harold V. Lumberg in 1922 and they lived in the Cashmere Monitor area. She married Harry A. Smith in 1951 and they made their home in Cashmere. She was voted Chelan County Pioneer Woman of die year in 1984. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Cashmere Baptist Church, Cash-mere American Legion Post 64 Auxiliary, Rocky Reach Barracks Auxiliary and American Gold Star Mothers. Survivors include three sons, Don Lumberg of Las Vegas.
