James Pillar Campbell 1st married Sarah E. Richardson on February 20, 1873 in Nacogdoches County, Texas [Texas Marriages, 1837-1973 - Familysearch.org] [We believe this Sarah E. Richardson is actually Sarah Richmond, daughter of Henry & Darker Rebecca Richmond.]

We find Sarah Richmond, born about 1852 in Mississippi, daughter of Henry Richmond and Darker Rebecca Richmond, in the 1860 Census, Beat 9, Nacogdoches, Texas, August 4, 1860

Next we find Sarah Richmond, born about 1855, listed in the 1870 Census, District 2, Nacogdoches, Texas, August 19, 1870, living with her brother, John C. (aka Joseph) Richmond and his wife Adeline and their son John H. Richmond. Sarah’s siblings, Louisa Jane Richmond and Henry Thomas Richmond are also living there.

James P. Campbell and Sarah Richmond had one child, Sarah "Sally" Campbell, born December 25, 1874, in Oakwood, Leon Co., Texas. We find daughter, Sarah "Sally" Campbell living with Henry T. & Mary Lou Richmond, and listed as niece in the 1900 Census, Justice Precinct 6, Leon, Texas, July 3, 1900 - Family # 450 [This further supports our theory that Sarah E. Richardson is actually Sarah E. Richmond. Henry Thomas Richmond is her brother.]

We know that James Pillar Campbell married Mary Beth Reavis in about 1877, because their first child, John Albert Campbell, was born on June 5, 1878. From this we can determine that Sarah E. (Richmond) Campbell died between December 25, 1874 and the year 1877.
