Mar. 28, 1947, The Southern Aegis: Mrs. Elizabeth Byers Alford, 87, passed away at a Birmingham hospital March 21. She is survived by two sons, H. B. and J. B. Alford of Birmingham; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Ramsey, Ashville, Mrs. Orris A. Baker, St. Clair Springs; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Fannie Moore, Ashville and one Brother, M. P. Byers of Springville.
Funeral services were held at Cool Springs Baptist church Sunday at 3 p.m., with Rev. E. E. Weaver, Rev. George Williams and Rev. Vesta Wyatt officiating. Active pallbearers were the grandsons, H. B. Alford, Jr., Dr. O. T. Alford, James H. Alford, R. C. Ramsey, Reuben Ramsey, Edward Skinner and Ralph Glidewell.
