Mr. Ellie Catoe, aged about 21 years, son of Mr. W.T. Catoe, who lives about two miles west of Kershaw, died Saturday night of typhoid dysentery, after an illness lasting a little less than two weeks. Mr. Catoe was an honest, upright young man, quiet and unassuming in his manner, and was a consistent member of the Hanging Rock Methodist church. He was conscious almost to the last moment and just a few minutes before breathing his last expressed his readiness to die and save the song "Since I have been redeemed." His remains were interred at Hanging Rock church yesterday afternoon after services conducted by Rev. D.A. Phillips - Kershaw Era
