WANATAH, IN -- Rachael M. Goetz, 89, of Wanatah formerly of Valparaiso passed away Wednesday September 24, 2008 at her home.
She was born on February 9, 1919 in Galva IL to Sidney and Myrtle (Kewley) Moore.
Rachael graduated from Galva High School and went on to attend Indiana University in Gary. She formerly worked at the Porter County Courthouse as a secretary and was a homemaker. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Wanatah. Rachael was a member of Wm. Henry Harrison DAR, North American Manx Society, 50 year member of Valpo's Womens Club, former member of Naples, FL Artist Association, National Bell Society and OES past officer.
On April 30, 1969 in Wanatah, Rachael married Gordon Goetz who preceded her in death on April 20, 1998.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Kenneth) Kozlowski of Wanatah; four grandchildren: Rebecca Carpenter of Wanatah, Nikkole Kozlowski of Columbus, OH, Eric Stahl of Michigan City and Frederick Stahl of Portage; three great-grandchildren: Karissa and Mathew Richardson and Michael Stahl; one great-great-grandchild, Selena Stahl.
She was preceded in death by son, Richard Stahl; sister, Harriet Moore; and brother, Keith Moore.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, with Pastor Craig Forwalter officiating.
