Death Takes Mrs. Carrie E Aikman
Mrs. Carrie E. Aikman, 71, of 117 West 25th, died in a Kearney hospital Sunday night after a lingering illness. She had been a resident of Kearney for three years. She was born at Prophetstown, Ill.
Her husband Addison Aikman died in 1907. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Alpha Bell of Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Merle Thornburg of Chappell and Mrs. Marie Bortis of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, C.E. Adams of Kearney; three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Tatman of North Platte, Mrs. Grace Roche of Trinidad, Colo., and Mrs. Nora Gordon of Clarks. The body was taken to the Bower funeral home to await funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie E. Aikman will be held at the Bower funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Charles B. Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Springranch (sic) cemetery (sic), southwest of Clay Center.

MOTHER OF MRS. THORNBURG PASSES AWAY
Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Thornburg received word Sunday of the serious Illness of her mother Mrs. C.E. Aikman of Kearney, Nebr. The Thornburgs, accompanied by their son Jerry, left that afternoon for Kearney, but Mrs. Aikman had passed away when they arrived.
Funeral Services were held yesterday morning at ten o'clock from the Bower Funeral Chapel In Kearney, and the body was taken to Spring Ranch, Nebraska for burial.
Mr. and Mrs. Norris Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Harland Sutton left Tuesday evening, to attend the funeral services yesterday morning. They returned last night.
The Thornburg Variety Store was closed on Wednesday.
