Annie Allen, 76, Rites Wednesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Allen, 76, of Rocky Ford, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ustick Funeral Home, with Rev. Leon Broderick officiating. Mrs. Allen passed away Monday, at Pioneers Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since suffering a broken hip at her home, Aug. 24.

Mrs. Alen was born Sept.16, 1896 to James and Bertha Murphy in Aurora, Ark. She came to Rocky Ford in 1937.

She is survived by eight children including Orval, Ray, and Dale Allen and Mrs. Oren Scofield all of Rocky Ford; Lee Allen of Pueblo, Mrs. Lester Claypool of Springdale, Ark., Mrs. Chester Hayesof Amarillo, Tex., and Arvin Allen, address unknown. 29 grandchildren, adn 18 great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters also survive. Burial will be in Rocky Ford Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, including David Hayes, Danny Hayes, Dennis Hayes, Stan Scofield, Kenneth Scofield, and Gerald Allen.
