Sandy Lake man, Army vet worked at Damascus Tube
William H. "Smiley" Reagle, 5692 Sandy Lake-Polk Road, Sandy Lake, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, in Sandy Lake. He was 74.
Mr. Reagle was born April 9, 1934, in Sandy Lake Township to Robert Bruce Reagle and Effie Esther McCutcheon Reagle.
He attended the former Sandy Lake High School and was employed for 29 years as a laborer for Damascus Tube Co., Greenville.
An Army veteran, he served as a SP3 (T) during the Korean conflict.
He was a member of Sandy Lake Alliance Church.
Smiley enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
His wife, the former Ethel J. Redfoot, whom he married Sept. 26, 1959, survives at home.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Effie M. Berlin, Stoneboro; and Wilma, wife of Richard "Rick" Meeker, Hamilton, Ohio; a son, William H. Reagle Jr., husband of Melissa, Stoneboro; a sister, Jane, wife of William Dabb, Winter Haven, Fla.; and a grandson, William H. Reagle III, Stoneboro.
Smiley was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice Miller; and a brother, Reuben Reagle.
