MRS. M. A. DUDLEY GONE TO REWARD
Old Resident of Roanoke Died Last Friday at Her Home in Lowell.
After a long illness Mrs. M. A. Dudley died at her home in Lowell this city, last Friday. Every attention was given her, and a trained nurse attended her, but the burden of age and infirmities was too much to be longer borne.
Sunday afternoon the funeral services of this good woman were held in the auditorium in Lowell, which was filled to overflowing. Mrs. Dudley had long been a member of the Methodist church. The last rites were performed, according to the Methodist ritual, by Revs. C. C. O'Neal and E. M. Glenn. The remains were laid to rest in the public cemetery.
Mrs. Dudley came to Roanoke when the town began to grow. Her husband was the first section foreman on the Central railroad. Seven grown children survive her.
