Edna Strahin, 73, of Terra Alta, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Oakland, Md., a daughter of the late Everett Frances and Virginia Ruth Johnson Hershman.

She retired from Hopemont State Hospital in 1991.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur "Sonny" and spouse, Karen Strahin, and David C. Strahin, all of Terra Alta; three daughters, Pam Popielewski, Shelia Pyles and companion, Mike Cupp, all of Kingwood, and Carla and spouse, Brad Schoolcraft, of Terra Alta.

Also surviving are five brothers, Dock Hershman, of Baltimore, Jesse Hershman, of Terra Alta, Ralph Hershman, of Baltimore, Carl Hershman, of Terra Alta and Allen Hershman, of Terra Alta; and two sisters, Regina Tenney and Helen Barker, both of Terra Alta.

Seven grandchildren also survive: Toni Custer, Arthur Strahin Jr., Shelley Popielweski, Craig Pyles, Nicole Goss, Jennifer Pyles and LaRanda Schoolcraft; and five great-grandchildren, Lee, Allison, Todd, Kasey and Tristan.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Neil and June Hershman, and a son-in-law, Dick Popielewski.

Friends may be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, Sunday, June 8, 2003, from 4-8 p.m. and Monday, June 9, 2003, from noon until the 1 p.m. time of the service, with the Rev. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Terra Alta.

Edna was married to Charles Adam Strahin.They divorced. I'm connecting them because they had children together.This will help other family members in the future.
