Age 80, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2009 with his loving family by his side.
He was born January 8, 1929 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Charles and Elsie (Massey) McGovern.


Fayne was a graduate of Milan High School Class of 1947. That year he went to work for Young and Hollenhamp as a Local 190 apprentice plumber. In 1955, Fayne started his own plumbing and heating business in Milan. He retired from McGovern Plumbing and Heating Inc. in 1992, after 37 years. He was a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 190 since 1947 and also served on the Plumbers & Mechanical Contractors Board.

On June 12, 1948, Fayne married his high school sweetheart, Joanne Marie McMullen at the first People's Presbyterian Church, in Milan.
Fayne is survived by his wife, Joanne, sisters; Barbara Bell and Nancy (Jack) Gardiner,
and seven children;
Scott (Jackie), Daniel (Cindy), Linda (Newt) Squires, Timothy (Janet),
Victor (Freda), Janet McGovern Klohs and Erik.
20 Grandchildren and 19 Great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy, son in law Jim Klohs and great grandson, Andrew McGovern.

Fayne created a wonderful life for his wife and children. He was dedicated to his family and McGovern Plumbing. His company was truly a family business. Four sons and two grandsons are plumbers, his daughters worked in the office and both son in laws worked for the company. Son, Daniel, Newt Squires with partner, Jeff Williams, took over McGovern Plumbing in 1992, now in it's 54th year.
Fayne was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler. He and Joanne enjoyed traveling together to Hawaii, Alaska and Aruba and countless trips in their motor home all over the US and especially Michigan.
