He married, first, probably in Monson,MA on Nov 29,1792, Sally Webber.

He married, second, at Halifax,VT on Sep 9,1810, Rebecca (Taylor) Edson.

Capt.Edward Adams bought the mills on the West Branch, added an ashery, a distillery, and a fulling mill. He erected a store and tavern which he ran for many years. The Adamsville section of Colrain is named for him.

Children(by first marriage): Luseba Adams Stearns, Elvira Adams Thompson, and Orrel Adams Lyons.
