A funeral for Elizabeth Louana Dumdi of McMinnville will be held at 3 p.m.
Friday in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. Interment
will be private.

The funeral home will be open for visitation from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and
Thursday.

Mrs. Dumdi died June 24, 2001, in Salem Memorial Hospital. She was 78.

She was born May 1, 1923, in McMinnville, the daughter of Clay and Martha
Johnson Nelson. As an infant, she moved to Tygh Valley. She was educated in
Shadybrook and Tygh Valley. She moved to Dayton in 1941.

She and Howard Dumdi were married May 3, 1958, in McMinnville.

She moved to Carlton in 1958 and lived there until 1998, when she moved to
McMinnville. She loved crocheting, cooking, reading, dancing, western music and
going to the beach.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Bilbie of McMinnville and Virginia
Jensen of Tacoma, Wash.; a son, Ira Nelson Sr. of Dayton; four brothers, Doug
Nelson of Dayton, Norman Nelson of Amity, Verl Nelson of McMinnville and Victor
Nelson of Sheridan; a sister, Agnes Goetzinger of Corvallis; two grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991 and two brothers and a sister.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in care
of Macy & Son, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128.
