Mr. Henry J. "Harry" Conaty, of North Dighton, died Friday, May 29 in Longmeadow of Taunton following a brief illness. He was the husband of Lorraine F. (Foley) Conaty. He was born 80 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late William H. and Emma G. (Morin) Conaty. He was educated in Taunton, graduating from Taunton High School, and had been a North Dighton resident for the past 56 years.

Prior to his retirement, he had owned and operated the former Conaty Oil Company of North Dighton for 45 years. Mr. Conaty was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action, and was a Bronze Star Medal recipient. He was a member of the Dighton Lions Club. He enjoyed travelling, camping and amateur photography. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church (formerly St. Joseph's Church) in North Dighton.

In addition to his wife, he leaves:

1 daughter: Carol M. Lehmann and her husband, Thomas, of Westbrook, Ct.

1 sister: Joyce Mayo and her husband, Kenneth, of Suffield, Ct.

6 grandchildren: Allison Sabat, Melissa Lehmann, Kristin Giles, Scott Lehmann,

Amy Conaty, and Matthew Conaty

2 great grandsons: Timothy and Noah Sabat

several nieces and nephews

Mr. Conaty was also the father of the late Timothy E. Conaty, and the brother of the late William Conaty Jr.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Tuesday, June 2 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Nicholas of Myra Church, North Dighton, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
