It seems few people get to go out they way they wanted but Dorothy pretty much did; in her home and amongst her many plants. And the police scanner blaring out police/fire/ems calls from all across Charles County. She knew all the codes. She was considered 'the Cobb Island' historian for many reasons. She helped many folks over the years to learn about the real history of Cobb Island with the collected materials she amassed over the years. This collection is destined for the archives at the College of Southern Md. She was a longtime member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Issue and the Charles County Substance Abuse Advisory Commission. She was a member of the Cobb Island Citizens Association and formerly a grand marshal on the Cobb Island Days annual celebration. Above and beyond anything else, she will always be 'Miss Cobb Island 1939'.
