"Mr. Abner Young died at his home, a few miles south of here, the 20th of March, after a severe illness of twenty-four hours. Dr. W. A. Sheldon and Dr. T. E. Allgood attended him. He was unconscious, his suffering was so great. He was taken with something like cramp colic. He left six sons and two daughters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his demise. He was buried the day following his death at Flat Rock, Rev. T. F. Nelson conducting the funeral service. He was 60 years old."
