Services celebrating the life of Evelyn Anna Sakry, 93, of St. Cloud will be at 11 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Evelyn passed away on Sunday, April 19th at the St. Cloud Hospital. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call between 4-8 PM on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10 AM on Thursday at the church. Parish Prayers will be at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born on October 6, 1915 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to Wendelin and Helen (Adrian) Lemm. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School in New Munich and Melrose High School. She married Maynard Sakry on October 6, 1938 in St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She was a charter member of Holy Spirit Parish and active in the church mission group for many years.
Survivors include her sons and daughter; Richard (Linnea) of Rice, Dennis (MaryJo) of St. Cloud, Dean (Jan) of Ray, Tom (Sandy) of International Falls, Phil (Jean) of St. Cloud, Mark (Diane) of Waite Park and Joan (Mick) McLaugh- lin of Leesburg, FL; 17 grand- children; 14 great grandchildren; and her brother Jerome (Bernie) Lemm of New Munich.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Maynard in 1998; infant brother Richard; sister Lavina; brother Donald; and one grandson.
Memorials are preferred to the Poor Clares Monastery in Sauk Rapids, Holy Spirit Parish or the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central MN.
