Cass Pioneer, Mother of Fargoan, Dies

Mrs. Washington Collins, Cass County pioneer and mother of Harl Collins, 704 Tenth St. S., died about noon Saturday in a Fargo hospital. She had been living at Casselton.

Born July 11, 1872, in Iowa, Mrs. Collins had pioneered in the Arthur, N. D., vicinity about 1894. She later resided in Hunter, N. D., and moved to Casselton about six years ago.

Survivors include Mr. Collins, who is her second husband, five sons in addition to Harl, Marion B. of Casselton, Walter and Leon of Hunter, Arthur of Michigan, N. D., and Earl of Hartland, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Carpenter, Casselton; a brother, Webster Barham, of Oregon; a sister, Mrs. Laura Behe of California; and 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services have been set for 2 p.m. at the Casselton Presbyterian Church with Rev. O. E. McCracken officiating. Burial will be at Arthur.

Pallbearers Named for Mrs. W. Collins

Pallbearers at services for Mrs. Washington Collins, long time Cass County resident who died Saturday will be six grandsons. They are Donald, Gerald, Dale, Leslie, and Leon Collins and Thomas Hassett.
Services will be at 2:30 Tuesday in Casselton, Rev. O. E. McCracken officiating. The body is at the Hugo Priewe Funeral Home.

She married Thomas Alexander Collins in 1893. He died in 1923. She later married Thomas' brother, Washington Grant Collins.
Cass Pioneer, Mother of Fargoan, Dies
