Mrs. George Gates, a former well known resident of this city, passed away at her home in Jefferson at 1:20 o’clock Saturday afternoon, following a stroke of paralysis. The remains arrived in Boone at noon Tuesday and were taken direct to the Baptist church where funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Coulston. Interment in Linwood Park cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. C. E. Hayes and Mrs. J.P. Giltner of this city and Mrs. Ed Baker of Minneapolis, and they with many other relatives and friends were present at the funeral.
