Birthday Party
Mrs. Mary Crowell Knapp was born on Ball Hill in a log cabin, for which her father cut trees to build, in 1851 on 23 May. Thirty seven relatives and friends gathered Sunday to give her a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Homan on Pearl Street. There were six birthday cakes.
Mrs. Knapp has three children, Will Knapp of Jamestown, Mrs. Lewis Pope of Silver Creek, and Mrs. Clarence Homan with whom she now makes her home. She has nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Knapp is in good health and gets around to call on her many friends.
