Mrs. Gertrude R. Smith, wife of W. S. Smith, died in her home at Mt. Zion at 6 o'clock Sunday morning. Death was caused by heart trouble.
She was born in Mt. Zion Feb. 16, 1859, and was married at Mt. Zion Dec. 15,1881. She had lived at Mt. Zion all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Decatur.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. D. S. McGaughey, Sidney Smith and Paul Smith, all of Decatur; and Guy Smith of Los Angeles. A sister, Mrs. I.E. Six of Mt. Zion and five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be private and will be conducted in the home at Mt. Zion at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery.
