J. W. Highfill Dies At His Home Near Potter
John Washington Highfill, 72, a life resident of the Potter community, died at his home Tuesday [31 Oct] night after an extended illness.
Mr. Highfill was born on a farm three miles south of the present home December 12 1866. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Highfill, early-day Potter residents. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Mr. Highfill is survived by two brothers, T.J. Highfill, Potter and Ben Highfill, home address; two sisters, Mrs. Abie Hundley, Atchison, Kas., and Mrs. Louis Linville, Plainview, Tex., and an aunt, Miss Mary Porter, home address.
Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
The Davis Funeral Church of Leavenworth has charge.
