In the 1900 census, Annie and John Keller are listed without Walter in the family. Annie put that she had 3 children with only 2 living. Lydi and Emma are listed as those living children. Walter cannot be found on any census in 1900 under Walter Keller but there was a Walter Smith in 1900 in a home for Protestant Boys. In 1910, Walter K shows up in the Dell family as a 22 year old working for the RR. Walter lists Harry S Keller as his father on his SS application and Anna M Dell as his mother. However, on his employment records for the PA Railroad, he lists William Keller and Anna Irene Keller as his parents. On his marriage license to Iona, he lists William Keller as his father and Annie Dell as his mother. Walter was born in Dec 1885 before Annie and John Dell got married in 1890 and he never took on the Dell name. Walter and Bessie could be Anna's illegitimate children born with William Keller as their father before she married John Dell in 1890. DNA is shared between the descendants of Walter and the descendants of Bessie.
