John W. Chandler, 90, died late Wednesday afternoon in Lincoln General Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Ruston, Mr. Chandler was a retired farmer.
Funeral services for Mr. Chandler will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Spears Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Robert S. Magee, pastor of Temple Baptist Church of Ruston, assisted by Rev. Marvin Jones. Interment will follow in the Douglas Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harmon Chandler, J.T. Burgess, Nixon Chandler, Harold Bennett Chandler, Raymond Britlon and Oscar Chandler.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Inex B. Price of Shreveport, Mrs. Lavena Land of Ruston and Mrs. Myrtis C. Orr, also of Ruston; one sister, Mrs. Fannie C. Stephenson of Topeka, Kan.; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
